In 2026, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) celebrate their 30th anniversary. The MSCA support researchers during their doctoral and postdoctoral phases in their mobility and professional development across national and sectoral boundaries. The funding line has undergone continuous development over the past decades.
Towards the end of last year, the final MSCA work program for 2026 and 2027 was published. In addition to budgetary adjustments, various content-related changes have been made.
Here a brief overview of 3 key adjustments:
- Secondments are now possible for half of the fellowship period, and for Global Fellowships, the outgoing phase can account for 50% of the total duration
- Resubmissions are only possible if the proposal has achieved a score of 80% or higher
- The monthly rates for the salary components were adapted to inflation
The next call for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships opens on April 9, 2026. Feel free to contact ZEUSS for professional support at all stages of the application process: https://zeuss-saxony.de/contact/
On May 21, 2026, ZEUSS will host the second edition of the workshop “MSCA Supervision: Inspire, Guide, Empower” at the University of Leipzig from 9:30-16:00. The workshop is aimed at experienced scientists from Saxon universities and research institutions who consider hosting a MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship candidate. More information to follow.
